Sameena is a part of the firm’s Corporate and Real Estate Practice group based in Chennai. With 2 decades of experience, she advises domestic and foreign clients on a broad range of corporate mandates, with a particular focus on private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border transactions across India and overseas.
She has built a strong track record in advising clients through the full lifespan of complex, high-value transactions across the healthcare, energy, and information technology sectors. She works closely with a diverse client base that includes private equity funds, multinational corporations, development finance institutions, and venture capital investors, guiding them from structuring through to closing on some of the most significant deals in her sectors of focus.
Beyond transactional work, Sameena advises clients on company formations, business structuring, and the early-stage legal requirements of start-ups. She has developed a well-rounded corporate practice that extends to employment package drafting and regulatory compliance, making her a trusted advisor to clients at every stage of their business lifecycle. Her corporate and transactional background enables her to deliver strategically integrated advice on real estate matters, particularly where projects involve layered commercial, regulatory, and structuring considerations.
She has also developed a distinguished practice in workplace compliance, advising establishments across India on compliance with sexual harassment laws. Drawing on her experience in investigating allegations of sexual harassment and her commitment to the protection of women’s rights, she currently serves as a key member on the internal complaint’s committees of several establishments — a body of work that reflects both her legal expertise and her broader commitment to institutional accountability.
In addition to her commercial practice, Sameena has also contributed meaningfully to pro bono and impact-oriented matters, reflecting her commitment to using her legal expertise in furtherance of broader social and philanthropic objectives.
