Rimali is a Partner in DSK Legal’s Dispute Resolution and Energy practice, having over 14 years of experience with a focus on oil and gas, energy and infrastructure. Rimali advises and represents domestic, international and muti-national companies as well as Government PSUs/Ministries. She has experience in handling wide range of complex disputes. She is currently leading dispute resolution for private and government companies including investment funds.

She regularly advises the Ministry of Power, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Railways on various policy and regulatory issues, which also include drafting/amending laws, regulations, cabinet notes, formulating policies and other regulatory instruments. She also advises the Government and global companies/MNCs on procurements/bid-submissions and project development of capital-intensive projects and facilities around the world. Her projects practice focuses on railways and renewable energy projects.

Recent Key Assignments

  • Advising and representing the Government of India in an India seated International Commercial Arbitration held in London, concerning disputes related to exploration, production and distribution of gas.
  • Assisted and advised the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in recommending and drafting amendments to the applicable legal framework regulating petroleum and natural gas in India.
  • Advising and representing a leading Canadian pension fund in multiple construction arbitrations relating to issues arising out of concession agreements.
  • Advised the Ministry of Railways in procuring, operating and maintaining high speed electric trains through public-private partnership under the aegis of Vande Bharat Mission.
  • Appointed as an expert by a committee constituted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to advise on Exclusivity and Separation of Accounts in the CGD oil and gas sector.
