Experience

Manhar is an Associate Partner, having over 12 years of experience, focused in commercial disputes before various fora across the country as well as in domestic and international arbitral proceedings. He regularly advises and represents corporate entities and HNIs with respect to interim measures, challenge to Arbitral Awards and enforcement of Arbitral Awards arising out of arbitral proceedings, both, ad-hoc and institutional.

Independently, Manhar also possesses in-depth and extensive experience in advising and representing individuals in proceedings pertaining to offences under the penal laws, especially whiter collar crimes. He has represented clients as a Defence Counsel and contested the charges under the penal provisions of various laws, including Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and Indian Penal Code, 1896 before Trial Courts, High Courts and the Supreme Court of India.

Manhar had also been appointed as Standing Counsel for the Government of Punjab before Supreme Court of India, Department of Local Government-Punjab and the Punjab & Haryana High Court Legal Services Committee.

Manhar firmly believes in strategizing litigious matters with a result-oriented approach and with a quick turnaround time.

  • The Chief promoter of a multi-national weapons / defence equipment manufacturer / supplier in a commercial dispute before an ad-hoc Arbitral Tribunal international commercial arbitration seated in India.
  • India’s largest privately owned civil construction and earth moving corporation, in claims arising out of construction of an eco-sensitive hydro power project against India’s biggest public sector power generating / supplying corporation.
  • One of India’s biggest Pharmaceutical Company, in contesting a trademark dispute, instituted by another competing multi-national Pharmaceutical Company.
  • Representing a renowned public figure and then Minister of the Government of India, in a suit seeking damages on account of defamatory acts.
