Experience

Dinesh Pardasani is a Partner in the firm’s dispute resolution practice group. He has over two decades of experience in corporate and commercial disputes and international and domestic arbitrations. He practices across diverse forums, including the Supreme Court, High Courts, arbitral tribunals, and regulatory commissions.

He is an experienced dispute lawyer with a strong track record in strategising and implementing dispute strategies. A significant part of his practice involves conducting institutional (ICC, SIAC, LMAA, DIAC, etc.) and ad hoc arbitrations for disputes arising under construction contracts, supply contracts, and other commercial contracts in India and overseas. He has handled disputes in multiple sectors, including Railways (metro, heavy rail, Vande Bharat), Airports, Power (thermal, coal, hydro, solar, wind), Water, Waste Management, Roads, Steel Plants, Oil and Gas.

Dinesh also acts as an arbitrator and is a member of the Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) committee that scrutinises awards.

Dinesh has extensively advised on contractual and regulatory issues in Energy, Metro Rail, Airports, Smart Cities, Industrial Corridors etc. He was actively involved in forming Solar and Wind Guidelines for power procurement in India and amending the PPA to make them more bankable. In addition, he has advised five metro projects implemented on a PPP basis in India, including handling disputes with the employer, sub-contractors, and operators.

Recent Key Assignments

  • Advising a multinational railway system supplier on a 4000 Crore claim against Railways. This is one of the biggest arbitrations involving Railways.
  • Advising a rolling stock and signaling system supplier of bullet train in India. This is first of its kind project in India.
  • Advising Tata group on its international arbitration with an Indonesian coal supplier in a dispute involving 300 Million USD.
