Abhishek Mitra is a Counsel with the Technology practice group. With over 20 years of experience, he has held senior legal roles both in-house at British Telecommunications and Airtel, and in law firms. His practice focuses on privacy, telecom law, and technology-related commercial transactions.
Abhishek has worked on a wide variety of technology transactions ranging from high value software licensing agreements of global technology companies, IT and network outsourcing, managed services, digital transformation programs, data centre agreements, AI model development and the implementation of contract lifecycle management tools.

In the telecom sector, Abhishek has negotiated multi-year network outsourcing deals, large equipment procurement contracts, international consortium agreements for subsea cable construction and maintenance, IRU (indefeasible right of use) contracts for subsea capacity with major players, and advising on telecom-related compliance and regulatory issues.

Abhishek advises on data protection and privacy and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E). His work spans implementing privacy programs, data transfer impact assessments, privacy policies, and data protection agreements. He has helped businesses in India align with global privacy standards.

Abhishek graduated from ILS Law College, Pune, in 2004 and is a member of the Bar Council of Delhi.
