Khushbu is an Associate Partner part of the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice with an experience of 12 years. Her practice focuses on representing clients in disputes across maritime law, infrastructure, project finance, and contractual claims.

She regularly appears on claims adjudged before arbitral tribunals, both domestic and international, spanning ad-hoc and institutional proceedings including ICC, LCIA, LMAA, and SIAC.

Khushbu has extensive expertise in proceedings before the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court of India, including the enforcement of international and domestic awards passed by arbitral tribunals. She has also appeared before various other forums viz. Securities Appellate Tribunal, National Company Law Tribunal, Delhi High Court. She has also represented and advised public sector undertakings in domestic and international arbitral disputes.

Recent Key Assignments

  • Represented debenture holders in a debenture enforcement dispute, securing a favorable order from the Arbitral Tribunal upholding its jurisdiction and rejecting the guarantor’s challenge, thereby affirming the debenture holder’s entitlement to pursue claims under the Guarantee Deed.

  • Represented the Claimant Company before the Sole Arbitrator in a dispute arising out of a Joint Development Agreement for a redevelopment project. Respondents were directed to secure the Claimant’s claim of principal/interest, aggregating to approximately Rs. 71.51 Crores, from the sale proceeds of specified unsold flats.

  • Appeared for SEBI in proceedings before the Securities Appellate Tribunal, where the Tribunal upheld SEBI’s directions against the company/ directors, affirming the principle that investor refund obligations under the securities regulatory framework cannot be avoided or indefinitely deferred. The Supreme Court subsequently declined to interfere with the Tribunal’s findings;

  • Represented SEBI before the Securities Appellate Tribunal in a matter against an entity along with the connected ones, inter alia concerning violations relating to promoter group disclosures, minimum public shareholding requirements, to project an illiquid scrip as liquid during a delisting exercise. The Tribunal upheld SEBI’s core findings and directions. The order was subsequently challenged before the Supreme Court, which dismissed the appeals and held that no substantial question of law arose, resulting in the SAT order attaining finality.
