Experience

Anisha is part of the firm’s Insolvency & Restructuring and Banking & Finance practice. Her practice is focused on advising creditors, investors, and stressed asset funds across the full lifecycle of distressed situations, including resolution, restructuring, enforcement, and exit strategies. She regularly works on complex, multi-stakeholder mandates under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, as well as out-of-court restructurings and structured financings.

Anisha has significant experience advising resolution professionals and committees of creditors, stakeholders in corporate insolvency resolution processes, liquidation and voluntary liquidation proceedings. She also represents resolution applicants, strategic investors and financial sponsors in evaluating and bidding for distressed assets, including through resolution plans and liquidation sales.

On the financing side, she advises borrowers and lenders on structured debt transactions, including domestic and cross-border financing, refinancing, and debt restructuring. Her practice also includes all forms of debt / mezzanine funding and bespoke credit structures involving stressed and special situations investors.

In addition, Anisha advises on corporate and transactional matters, including slump sales, joint ventures, schemes of arrangement and cross-border reorganisations.

Anisha is also a qualified Company Secretary, bringing an added layer of insight to corporate governance, regulatory compliance and transaction structuring in her practice. She has graduated from Indian Law Society (ILS), Pune in 2016 and has been with the firm since the beginning of her career.

Recent Key Assignments

  • Advised the Resolution Professional (BDO) of JBF Petrochemicals Limited in relation to the corporate insolvency resolution process and sale of the company to GAIL (India) Limited.

  • Advised the MAHAGENCO – NTPC consortium, throughout the entire CIRP process for Sinnar Thermal Power Limited, from designing and negotiating the resolution strategy to securing approvals, resolution plan approval and driving execution through to final implementation.

  • Advised Steel Strips Wheels Limited, Liberty Steels Group, Prestige Group end to end, from structuring of their resolution plans submitted in CIRP for the respective corporate debtors and its implementation.

  • Advised National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited in acquisition of stressed loans of various entities.

  • Advised LIC housing Finance Limited, Arka Fincap Limited, IMAP India, SBI Stressed Asset Fund, Kotak Stressed Asset Fund, SC Lowy (HK), AfrAsia Bank (Mauritius), on various financing deals.

  • Advised Aditya Birla Capital Limited on multiple financing, securitisation and direct assignment transactions.

  • Advised on several schemes of amalgamation (including fast track), demergers, capital reduction and slump sale transactions.
