About Anjan Dasgupta
Anjan is a Partner at the firm’s Mumbai office and is a legal expert in infrastructure and energy project development and finance, public private partnerships, government contracts and public procurement. He represents participants in every aspect of development, financing, construction, operation and acquisition of capital-intensive projects and facilities around Asia, Middle East and Africa. He has more than 17 years of experience advising international banks, financial and multilateral institutions, developers, investors and governments. His projects include roads and highways, sea-links, ports, airports, power plants (conventional, solar, wind and hydro), mining, metro and rail networks, smart cities, special economic zones, oil and gas facilities, healthcare infrastructure such as hospitals and diagnostic facilities, agribusiness, educational institutions, telecommunications networks and facilities and other infrastructure assets.
He regularly writes and speaks on topics relating to energy and infrastructure, restructuring and insolvency, banking and finance, project finance, and PPPs in India. Anjan has a strong academic background and is a recipient of number of awards and scholarships for excellence in the study of law. He has a keen interest in teaching and has been a visiting faculty in various law schools in India and overseas.
Anjan has considerable international experience, having worked with distinguished international legal firms such as Herbert Smith Freehills LLP’s (then Herbert Smith LLP) energy, infrastructure and project finance practice in London. He has also worked with Norton Rose Fulbright LLP (then Ogilvy Renault LLP) in Toronto, Trilegal in Mumbai and The Centre of Innovation Law and Policy at the University of Toronto, Canada.
